Flight to Basel: Delay, broken seats, stench and flight attendants in private clothes

Travelers from Pristina to Basel experienced a flight with Jetsky Airways that was anything but pleasant. The problems on board the 34-year-old Boeing 737 were varied, as pictures from passengers show.

More and more airlines are deciding to be more relaxed when it comes to work clothes and are opting for sneakers, shorts or T-shirts, for example. But these are still uniforms. Private jeans and T-shirts are a long way from that.

Nevertheless, a flight attendant on a Jetsky Airways flight from Pristina to Basel was apparently dressed exactly as a passenger told the news portal 20 minutes reported. And that was just one factor that made her and other travelers uncomfortable on board the Boeing 737-400 of the Bulgarian wet-lease and charter airline.

Many broken seats

It all started last Saturday (17 August) with a four-hour delay. Instead of taking off at 4:30 p.m., flight 9W2633 took off at 8:30 p.m. After boarding, the passenger told 20 minutes ago, there was a strong smell in the 34-year-old plane with the registration LZ-PRS. The cabin furnishings also did not make a good impression. Several rows were blocked off because they were no longer usable. This meant that families were separated and children could not sit with their parents.

And there were some broken things in the other rows too. Seats were apparently repaired with adhesive tape. According to the report, the backrest of one of them fell off several times when the flight attendant, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, walked past. Jetsky is clearly not without uniforms. One of the photos shows flight attendants wearing uniforms.

«Impeccably maintained»

The Bulgarian charter airline Jetsky was founded in 2021. It flies with two Boeing 737-400s, which are around 27 and around 34 years old. The aircraft with the registrations LZ-CRI and LZ-PRS last flew for Cerium Air in Kazakhstan and Voyage Air in Bulgaria.

There is not much to find out about the airline on its website. It has an EASA air operator certificate, a maintenance permit and all the necessary permits for worldwide passenger and cargo traffic. “The fleet consists of two impeccably maintained Boeing 737-400s, which ensure flexibility and the highest safety standards,” the airline also writes. Its mission is to connect larger and smaller airports throughout Europe, in Kosovo, Turkey, Egypt, Israel and elsewhere.

Many things unclear

“We have partnered with leading tour operators and airlines to ensure high demand and full passenger numbers on our routes,” the airline also writes. The tour operators and airlines involved are not disclosed. A request from aeroTELEGRAPH to Jetsky remained unanswered until the article was published.
