Flight MH17 was shot down by a Buk missile – prosecutor

Members of the court consider the reconstruction of the downed aircraft MH17

On the wreckage of the plane shot down over Donbass, no traces of other weapons were found, except for the Buk air defense system.

In the Netherlands, at the trial in the case of the crash of the MH17 flight in Donbass in 2014, they said that the investigation did not find any traces of other weapons that could have shot down the plane, except for the Buk air defense system. This was announced by the prosecutor Manon Ridderbeks, writes on Twitter De Telegraaf journalist Saskia Belleman.

“No traces were found indicating that other weapons were used. Act.

According to Ridderbeks, the fact that the plane was shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft missile system is indicated by the nature of the damage to the aircraft, the examination of fragments and submunitions, as well as the intercepted telephone conversations of the accused.

During the meeting, negotiations were heard between the defendants – Leonid Kharchenko and Oleg Pulatov.

In the conversation, they argued that the Malaysian Airlines plane was allegedly shot down by a Ukrainian fighter jet, which had already been fired by a Buk. In this case, the defendants, speaking about the air defense system, use the expression “our Buk”.

The investigation established that not a single Ukrainian military aircraft was shot down that day. And in the area of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing, there were no wreckage of other airliners.

Let’s remind, on Monday, December 20, the prosecutor began to read out the indictment in the case of flight MH17. The final decision will be announced by the court in the Netherlands in the fall of 2023.

Let’s add that earlier more than 300 lawsuits have been filed with the Hague court on compensation from the relatives of the victims of flight MH17.
