Flight delays and cancellations at SFO – Telemundo Bay Area 48

Heavy rain has caused flight cancellations and delays at San Francisco International Airport.

Airport officials reported that as of Thursday some flights are experiencing an average of 2 hours and 51 minutes of delay.

According to Flightaware 355 flights at the airport have experienced a delay, and 50 flights have been cancelled.

The situation was similar on Wednesday when the airport suffered more than 430 delays and more than 60 cancellations.

With the storm not expected to calm down for a few days, aviation experts said it will affect those beginning their travels for Thanksgiving week.

“If we can’t get out of this weather, which doesn’t look like we’re going to happen until sometime next week, all of these people could experience delays and will probably be delayed to their destination,” said Mike McCaron, an aviation expert.

Given this situation, some passengers have arrived at the airport early in an effort to anticipate any changes to their flights.

McCaron said he recommends that travelers stay in touch with their airline and check the status of their flight through an app.
