Frontier Airlines was reportedly forced to cancel a flight last Thursday after the pilot was arrested on board his plane by US authorities on a warrant for domestic violence.
“No replacement crew was immediately available and the flight was therefore cancelled,” the US airline confirmed to CBS News on Saturday.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, the pilot in question, identified by Houston police as Seymour Walker, 45, had just landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Texas when police reportedly arrested him, according to the American media.
The police reportedly waited until all passengers from the previous flight had gotten off the plane before handcuffing the pilot on board, who was under an arrest warrant for domestic violence.
The forty-year-old did not resist his arrest, which took place “without incident,” the police force told CBS News.
The pilot was supposed to be at the controls of the next flight, 3195, to Dallas, Texas, which had to be cancelled given the circumstances.
Passengers would have received a full refund, a flight credit or a seat on the airline’s next flight, the company told the American media.
