When testing magnetic levitation technology for use in vehicles in China, a 2.8 tonne vehicle capable of “floating” 35 mm above the surface of a highway was successfully tested. According to the Xinhua news agency, the experiment took place in the province of Jiangsu, in the east of the country.

On the same day, another road test was carried out at a speed of 200 km / h. Eight cars were tested on the 7.9 kilometer stretch, including five on new energy sources, the top speed approaching 230 km / h.
It is known that the tests are organized by the provincial authorities and are intended to evaluate the possible design of future roads and safety measures when driving at high speed.
