Flexible responsibility – Vorarlberger Nachrichten

In connection with the humanitarian catastrophe in Moria, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) spoke of “flexible solidarity”. In practice, that should mean that you only help where you want. In this sense, refugees on Greek islands should expect little or nothing from Austria.
The Chancellor and ÖVP boss is generally flexible. “Saving in the system” applies exclusively to others. He himself affords a lavish apparatus with a focus on public relations and advertisements for tabloids. His party, on the other hand, does not even get by with the highest grants worldwide, but has to take out additional loans in the millions.
Sebastian Kurz is also flexible with his family when it comes to taking responsibility. Then the motto that the Tyrolean Provincial Councilor Bernhard Tilg (ÖVP) issued for Ischgl applies: “We” did everything right, “we” are infallible.

“Nehammer is not even embarrassed, responsibility to his Before-before-predecessor Kickl to deport. “

An example: In the corona crisis, entrepreneurs had to wait a long time for support. It should not be because of the ÖVP politicians who organized the bureaucracy. On the contrary, according to Kurz, the entrepreneurs may not have been able to fill out applications correctly; he explained that on Ö3. The pandemic is generally such a story: In the past few months, turquoise government members have been alarmed about the number of infections in the federal capital. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) offered to help as a “breakwater”. In the autumn he and his kind began to criticize the city every day: it was no longer under control. The whole thing lasted until October 11th. Since then, nothing has been heard from Nehammer and Co. Why? The Vienna election was defeated on October 11, but the infection rate increased dramatically. But especially in black and turquoise countries like Vorarlberg. But that didn’t matter to Sebastian Kurz’s people: Even here, in this crisis of the century, they are only concerned with party politics. What they also underline by letting ÖVP-led countries inform about measures up to the second lockdown as early as possible and SPÖ-led ones as late as possible.

The low point of flexible responsibility has been reached these days: After the terrorist attack in Vienna, Kurz and Nehammer immediately tried to blame the judiciary: if the assassin had not been released early from prison, this attack could not have taken place, the Chancellor claimed. Nehammer also messed up the judiciary at the first opportunity. He would have better swept in front of his own door: As we now know, a lot has gone wrong in his department. But – unsurprisingly – he does not take responsibility for this, but even pushes it off to his predecessor Herbert Kickl (FPÖ). Kickl has been Minister of the Interior for almost a year and a half. D. And Nehammer should consider whether this job title wouldn’t suit him better too.
