Handball Bundesliga: Flensburg-Handewitt wins North Crime against THW Kiel
The German champions THW Kiel suffered their first defeat in the northern crime game against SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the fourth game of the season. Coach Filip Jicha’s team lost 27:28 (17:14) with a goal from Flensburg’s left winger Emil Jakobsen a few seconds before the final siren and fell back to third place in the table behind MT Melsungen and Füchse Berlin.
National team captain Johannes Golla was Flensburg’s most successful thrower with seven goals, and they could also thank their strong goalkeeper Benjamin Buric. The two backcourt players Nikola Bilyk and Elia Ellefsen each scored four goals for THW, who had the game firmly under control throughout the entire first half and for long stretches of the second half.

The two outside players Lukas Zerbe (7/1) and Leve Carstensen were the best throwers and the match winners for the guests from Lemgo. Wetzlar initially fell back to 18th and last place in the table.
