The Belgian winner who won more than 21 million euros in the EuroMillions draw on 31 August has reported to the National Lottery. After a media appeal, a Flemish man presented himself with the winning form at the Lottery’s head office.

He wins an amount of 21,214,762 euros, the National Lottery reports Friday morning.
Three Europeans marked the correct combination on their banknotes on August 31 (numbers 5 – 13 – 17 – 32 – 43 and stars 2 and 10). Among them was also one Belgian, who was over 21 million euros richer in one fell swoop.
Until this week, that winner had not yet registered, but that changed after a call from the National Lottery. “Because we were still enjoying some vacation for a few days, we didn’t check the results right away,” the winner is quoted as saying.
The Flemish couple is the first Belgian EuroMillions winner in rank 1 this year. In total, it is the 35th major EuroMillions winner in Belgium since 2004.
Detailed information about the winner will not be released to protect the privacy of the winning couple. ‘We don’t immediately have plans with this wonderful sum of money’, the man concludes. “We still have to recover from the shock and take some time to let everything sink in. Above all, we hope to be able to enjoy what follows in all discretion.’
