In many patients, COVID-19 infection has been shown to increase the risk of blood clots in the lungs and large vessels, as well as an increased risk of kidney failure and even sudden death. A clinical study conducted by the Jessa Hospital in Hasselt shows that by adjusting the recommended treatment according to international guidelines, the lethality of the coronavirus on intensive care could be reduced from almost 40 percent to below 4 percent.
