In an effort to reduce energy bills, the Flemish government is investigating whether it can cut back the very generous green subsidies for companies that were awarded until 2012. This includes the generous green energy certificates that Fernand Huts will receive Katoen Natie until the end of this decade. The problem is that it is legally very difficult to get out of the promises. According to some, energy minister Zuhal Demir (N-VA) might be able to invoke force majeure with the exploding energy prices.
