The new chairman will be one of the three N-VA members on the board of directors. And striking: Vlaams Belang, like CD&V, Open VLD, SP.A and Groen, only has one representative, while VB is a lot bigger in parliament.
Dalle: “If you go from 12 to 8 politically appointed directors, you know that the political parties are declining. We respect the principles of proportional representation, but the results of that calculation did not actually play a role.”
“We especially want the board of directors to become a real sounding board for the management. In a company with 2,000 employees and half a billion turnover, it is good to add independent expertise.” Which, incidentally, has been an obligation for public companies for years, only the VRT received an exception to that rule.
It will eventually become a scientific committee that will nominate the names of the four independent board members (on which the Flemish government has the final say).
