Fleetwood Mac star is dead – VG

DEAD: Fleetwood Mac lead singer Christine McVie has passed away. Here’s McVie at Madison Square Garden in 2014.

Fleetwood Mac singer and keyboardist Christine McVie has died at the age of 79.

Christine McVie died peacefully in hospital, surrounded by her closest family.

This according to the family BBC.

McVie is best known for being a core member of the group Fleetwood Mac, where she contributed vocals and keyboards.

He also wrote many of the band’s best-known songs, such as “Everywhere”, “Songbird” and “Little Lies”.

The band posted a statement on their official Twitter account.

– There are no words to describe our grief over the passing of Christina McVie, she says.

Furthermore, the group writes:

– She was very unique, special and immeasurably talented. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.

Fleetwood Mac also writes that they were very lucky to have a life with her.

– Individually and together, we deeply appreciate Christine and are grateful for all the wonderful memories we have. She will be deeply missed.

McVie, born Christine Perfect, married Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie and joined the group in 1971.

She left Fleetwood Mac after 28 years in 1998 but returned in 2014.

The Anglo-American rock band was founded in 1967. They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, writes The Guardian.

In July 2020, guitarist Peter Green died of Fleetwood Mac. He was one of the founders of the band.

Two years earlier, in June 2018, Danny Kirwan is dead at the age of 68. The former guitarist participated in the first five albums, until 1972.
