Flashes on the track and fight for the pennies. Max Verstappen won pole position in Zandvoort – F1sport.cz

Zandvoort is one of the circuits where qualifying is important because it is not easy to overtake on the track.

Bottas, Magnussen, Ricciardo, Vettel and Latifi did not advance from the first part of qualifying.

Right at the beginning of the second part, red flags are waved: an orange glow appeared on the track. At that moment on the track there was only Alex Albon, whose qualification was ruined by such an irresponsible fan.

Gasly, Ocon, Alonso, Chou and Albon did not move on to the third part.

A glow appeared on the track in the third part as well, but it ended up exiting the pits, so apart from the short yellow flags, the fight for pole position could continue. After the first few attempts, Leclerc took the lead ahead of Verstappen and Hamilton.

In the second attempt Leclerc accelerated even more, but so did Verstappen, beating him by 0.021. Third place for Sainz, who lost less than a tenth.

At the end of the race, Pérez spun. The yellow flags conditioned the attempts of the Mercedes drivers, who took fourth and sixth place respectively.

Norris, Schumacher and Stroll qualified well, reaching Q3, while their teammates finished in the first part of qualifying. In the end, Stroll did not intervene in the Q3 battles due to a technical problem.
