On Saturday afternoon, the Roope Salminen & Koirat band’s concert trip had quite a setback. The band’s bus broke down on the way to the gig.

The band updated videos about it on their Instagram stories. Instagram stories are visible 24 hours after publication.

– Greetings from Rauma. I came here and wondered where the rest of the band was, namely the gig should start in less than an hour, the band’s keyboardist Ossi Saarinen says in the video.

Instagram stories have pictures from the side of the highway. The band’s gig equipment, such as amplifiers and mic stands, is piled up by the side of the road, waiting. Cap-wearing Roope Salminen is sitting on top of one of the boxes, staring ahead with furrowed brows.

– But it’s okay. I heard that a replacement ride has been received. The dogs are on their way to Rauma. The gig is coming, keyboard player Saarinen continues with a video.

The video clip shows the band members playing guitar and singing next to the highway. A white van pulls up, towards which the band members head.

Finally, the band members get to the venue.

– Let the fastest freezing in Europe begin, the video reads.

Members carry goods out of white trucks towards the stage.

– I’ve always wanted to cry about this fucking shit, shakes Roope Salminen.

In the end, the band gets to pile the instruments on the stage on the sandy beach in Rauma. This is the Rauma Sunset Beach Party concert.

– It’s 4:32 p.m., so the assembly was successful. We did it, the gig is coming, the band members are glowing.

The last video clip shows how the band plays music on stage and shouts to the crowd cheering on the beach.

Roope responded to the criticism

Roope Salminen, known as a musician and actor, will also be seen in TV programs in the fall. He is a presenter on MTV3 and MTV Katsomo starting in September Voleprogram and as a guest artist on Nelose and Ruudu Just life in the season.

Part of the audience criticized Nelonen’s decision to include Salminen Just life program. This was due to the fact that in 2020, Salminen received a verdict from the district court for forcing him to commit a sexual act, which took place in 2015.

The production justified Iltalehte’s inclusion of Salminen in the season with the fact that the artist has paid and suffered the fine he received and has since had a successful career.

– I think every person has the right to a moral compass. I completely understand if anyone feels that they don’t want to watch the show I’m in, Salminen commented to Iltalehte.

– I believe that all those involved, who have chosen me for this, have certainly familiarized themselves with the issues and made an assessment of whether it is possible for development to take place in 10 years. I think that where others have the right not to watch my programs, these people also have the right to make such a choice, he states.

Salmis also has a wish for the people who gave criticism.

– I only wish that people’s criticism would only be directed at me, and not at my colleagues and friends. Of course, I’m biased, but I personally feel that the production and the performers have handled the matter very responsibly, says the musician.
