Jakarta –
Tebet Eco Park temporarily closed after the chaos due to rampant street vendors and the spread of illegal parking. Tebet Eco Park’s wrinkled face is in contrast to the expectations of DKI Governor Anies Baswedan.
Anies inaugurated the Tebet Eco Park on Saturday (23/4/2022). At that time, Anies stated that the park would be used as a retention pond as a flood control.
“Later, when the water rises, the water is stored on either side. This indeed functions as a retention pond in the rainy season,” said Anies at the location, Friday (23/4/2022).
Anies said, when it rains, the flood will flow into the river in the park. Later the flood water can be accommodated there.
“This river, later when the water rises, the water will be accommodated on either side. So, when the rainy season, the water increases, then the water will be accommodated in this park,” he said.
“So this park functions as a water reservoir when the volume of water increases in the rainy season. When the water recedes, it can be used again,” continued Anies.
Anies Tebet’s Hope Eco Park
Anies in his Instagram account @aniesbaswedan said that Tebet Eco Park is the third large-scale park revitalized by the DKI Provincial Government. He hopes that parks in Jakarta are child and family friendly after being revitalized.
“Tebet Eco Park is a large-scale park (park grande) is the third to be revitalized by the DKI Provincial Government, after Taman Mataram and Taman Puring. City parks in Jakarta are revitalized into parks and green open spaces that are child and family friendly. In addition, the park is a means of community interaction that can be accessed by anyone, including people with disabilities,” wrote Anies Baswedan accompanying the photos he uploaded, as seen on Saturday (7/5/2022).
In his upload, Anies also included photos of moments around the Tebet Eco Park.
Anies also asked if there was anything missing from Tebet Eco Park. He invited residents to submit suggestions about the Tebet Eco Park through the JAKI application.
“If friends have criticisms or suggestions for Tebet Eco Park, please submit them via the JAKI application,” said Anies.
