A hundred people, many from outside Piedmont, gathered to pay homage to Ezio Bosso in “his” piazza Statuto. In front of the arcades of Palazzo Paravia, a dozen Vespas and Lambrettas lined up at all points, one of the symbols of that mod culture of which the maestro was always proud of. Today would have been the birthday of the brilliant composer and conductor from Turin, who passed away on May 15th, after the long battle against a neurodegenerative disease.
“This square has always been the meeting point of the mods, Ezio has always frequented it even in the last period of his life, so we ask the city to name these gardens after him – says Tommaso Bosso, grandson of the musician – Today’s one is a beautiful sign of friendship and love “. To organize the flash mob, together with the family, also the members of Statuto, the historic band in which Bosso played bass in the late Eighties. “Ezio has never forgotten that he is a mod, even after becoming a world star – explains Oskar Giammarinaro, singer of the band – He would be happy, he first, of this title”. The drummer, Giovanni Naska echoes him: “This is the right tribute to remember him, since during the lockdown it was not possible to do so – he says – I met Ezio when he had just started his studies at the Conservatory, with us he recorded our first album, Holidays, in 88 ». From that album, Oskar and Naska improvised the piece today Statuto Square.
