The Queen Elizabeth, an unsuspecting nerd. Although the composure of His Majesty suggests refined tastes and a propensity for the classic, for literature and great love stories, it is quite another to hide behind the perfect and elegant appearance. Elizabeth II would, in fact, be passionate about science fiction, comics and superpowers. “Flash Gordon is the Queen’s favorite movie. He watches it every Christmas with his great-grandchildren ”, he assured Brian Blessed, interpreter of Vultano in 1980. “You know, I do it every year, and if you don’t mind I’d love to hear you say, ‘Gordon is alive,'” the actor said, mimicking, with a London accent, Her Majesty’s requests. Who, once he found himself in the presence of Blessed, would ask him to recite the line that made him most famous once again.
Elizabeth II, whose passion for television series is known, including Downton Abbey e The Crown, would have confided her preference to Blessed in 2016, when she came face to face with the actor.
