The Swiss economy grew slightly above expectations in the second quarter of 2024. According to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) on Thursday, GDP on an adjusted basis increased by 0.5% between April and June 2024 compared to the previous quarter.
This growth is “slightly above average,” the communiqué states. Industry in particular contributed to this. The service sector also grew overall.

The current data is based on a quick estimate by Seco. Basic data that is not yet fully available is supplemented with forecast values. It is emphasized that the complete and updated data that will be available later could still change the result. The official estimate for the second quarter will be published on September 3rd.
