Gent –
From Kung Fu Panda and Hazbin Hotel to Charlie Chaplin, The Girl with a Pearl Earring or a matchbox: you found them all this weekend at Flanders Expo, during FACTS. The fair attracted 32,605 visitors to its 39th edition.
Sci-fi and fantasy fair FACTS once again visited Flanders Expo this weekend, attracting 32,605 visitors. The organization announced this on Sunday evening.
The thousands of visitors made The Loop busy on Saturday, and there were sometimes long queues at the entrance. At least if you got there quickly, because a spontaneous strike at De Lijn also affected the route of tram 1 between Flanders Expo and Gent-Sint-Pieters station. The organization then installed last minute shuttle buses on the route, which together made around 6,000 journeys.
“This weekend was an example of how positive our community is,” says event manager Anthony Audenaerd. “To be stranded by a strike situation and still start their pop culture adventure as enthusiastically as ever, only FACTS visitors can do that.”
The program included shows, visits and signings from world-famous actors, a fair full of games and attributes,… But the visitors themselves were also worth a visit. After all, anyone who comes dressed up gets a discount on an entrance ticket, and this traditionally happens en masse. Enjoy their creations.
