Flanders wants young people aged 12 to 15 to be given the opportunity to be vaccinated against the corona virus “as soon as possible”. That said Prime Minister Jan Jambon in the VTM Nieuws on Sunday afternoon.

According to Jambon, the subject will be on the agenda of the inter-ministerial conference of health ministers next Wednesday. “Flanders will defend there to give them the opportunity to be vaccinated as soon as possible,” said the Prime Minister.

Last week, the health ministers gave the green light to vaccinate young people aged 12 to 15 with underlying conditions. Early last month, the IMC already gave its blessing to vaccinate 16- and 17-year-olds. All minors will receive the vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech. That is the only one approved by the European Medicines Agency EMA for that age group.
