There was no parking chaos like last year at the Flaming Stars in Scharnhauser Park. Nevertheless, lines of cars formed on the grounds. We show the best pictures.
On the first day of the Flaming Stars, queues of cars formed around the parking lots in Scharnhauser Park. There was no parking chaos like last year. On a warm summer night, 12,000 visitors experienced the start of the 20th edition of the fireworks festival on the former site of the State Garden Show. The opening event was given by pyrotechnician Joachim Berner and his team, who have been shaping the international festival for 20 years. To the sound of rock music, he set the sky ablaze with beautiful fireworks.
After the experience with rain, thunderstorms and muddy parking lots last year, the organizers had improved the security concept and the parking spaces. The shelter in the town hall was well signposted, and stewards in the parking lots on site ensured that things moved along more quickly. Many visitors opted for the parking garage at the Technical Academy, the Jahn gym in Nellingen or the Ruit State Sports School. On the site, people celebrated a colorful summer festival with local bands, beer, cocktails and food trucks. The organizers had transformed the community gardens into an enchanted forest with light installations.
The festival continues on August 24th and 25th at 6 p.m. – the Spanish fireworks start on Saturday at around 10:15 p.m. On Sunday, the pyrotechnicians from Canada will take their turn at the same time.
