De La Cruz chose Carlos Sánchez, his own brother, as his biggest football idol
De La Cruz’s press conference at Flamengo has not yet taken place, however, the Uruguayan has been responding to some made by the club. In one of these, the midfielder revealed that Carlos Sánchez, his own brother, is his biggest idol in football.
“Carlos Sánchez, my brother. He is my biggest idol. I always wanted to follow in his footsteps, obviously with a smaller amount. For me, he has the best qualities and, therefore, it is difficult to try to copy”declared De La Cruz, in an interview with ‘FlaTV’.

Sánchez, it is worth remembering, is De La Cruz’s older brother, and has already played in Brazilian football. At the time, the midfielder also played for Santos between 2018 and 2023. During his time with the Baixada Santista team, the athlete played 161 goals and scored 32 goals. Finally, the Uruguayan became the Vila Belmiro team’s top foreign scorer.
