Flamengo prepares to define ‘plan B’ if he is unable to move forward with hiring Scarpa

O Flamengo continues to meticulously plan the 2024 season after the failures in 2023. With this in mind, Rubro-Negro has already agreed to hire Nicolas de la Cruz and now targets Gustavo Scarpa, from Nottingham Forest (ING). However, Mais Querido has a ‘plan B’ in case the negotiation for the English team’s midfielder does not progress.

Currently, the Flamengo only agreed to hire De la Cruz with the River Plate (ARG), for the next season. However, Rubro-Negro wants to have another name for the midfield in 2024. This way, if the negotiation with Gustavo Scarpa does not work out, Mais Querido will look for another option for the position.

FIGHT WITH ATLÉTICO-MG

In addition to Flamengoo Atlético-MG is also betting all its chips on hiring Scarpa. At the moment, the Minas Gerais club has an advantage in negotiations for the player. In short, the interstate rival of Fla has already made an offer to Nottingham Forest official for the athlete.

Firstly, Atlético-MG’s offer for Scarpa was approximately 4.5 million euros, that is, around R$24 million at the current price. Now, the Minas Gerais team awaits a response from Nottingham Forest, which asked for 6 million euros for the midfielder (R$ 32 million).

LETTER UP THE SLEEVE

First of all, the bet of Flamengo is in the good relationship with the Nottingham Forest representative in Brazil: Giuliano Bertolucci. The businessman is an old acquaintance of Mais Querido and has already helped Rubro-Negro with several signings. The expectation is that the agent ‘plays’ in favor of the Fla talks by Gustavo Scarpa.
