Aged 26 and at Gávea since 2020, Maia is one of the athletes who could leave the Flamengo. With a new board, Corinthians is interested in signing him, but has not yet formalized him as head of red and black football.
In search of a midfielder, Inter consults
The person who consulted regarding Thiago Maia’s situation was Internacional. In search of a steering wheel in view of Johny’s imminent departure, Colorado made contact with the Flamengo to find out what plans the locals have for the athlete.
Another strong Inter name for the position was Uruguayan Nahitan Nández, formerly of Boca Juniors and currently at Cagliari. The Colorado board, however, received information that Nández wishes to remain in Europe. Gregore, former Bahia player and now Inter Miami player, is another of the athletes being observed.
It is worth noting that Internacional will only start to sign players after agreeing on the renewal of Eduardo Coudet, but it has already been mapping athletes.
Thiago Maia without anxiety
Thiago Maia leaves his future in the hands of Flamengo and its entrepreneurs. He really likes Rio de Janeiro, he has been a red-black since he was little and is completely adapted to the club. With a contract valid until December 2026, he is in no rush to define his next steps in football.
Although he had a season below expectations, as happened with a large part of the squad, Thiago Maia is one of the four athletes who played the most in 2023, with 64 games. He participated in nine of the 12 matches with Tite, five of them with a starter.
