Vítor Pereira’s life at Flamengo is increasingly complicated. This Sunday, the team trained by the Portuguese coach lost the derby in Rio de Janeiro with rivals Vasco da Gama, at home, by 1-0.
The only goal of the match was scored by Pumita Rodríguez at 49m, and despite several attempts, Mengão was unable to reach a tie, to the dismay of almost 70,000 fans at Maracanã.
Despite the defeat, Flamengo maintains the leadership of the Rio championship, with 23 points, one more than Fluminense, precisely the next opponent, in a game scheduled for next Thursday. Flamengo already has a guaranteed presence in the semi-finals of the competition.
It should be remembered that, after having left Corinthians for Flamengo, Vítor Pereira has already lost the Brazilian Super Cup and the Recopa, equivalent to the South American Super Cup.
