«The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that coach Vítor Pereira and his coaching staff are no longer in charge of the professional squad. The management thanks the professional and wishes luck in the continuity of his career», says the club from Rio de Janeiro in a short message posted on social networks.
While he was in charge of the Rio team, Vítor Pereira, in addition to the State Championship, also lost the Supercopa do Brasil, the Recopa Sul-Americana, in addition to having missed the Guanabara Cup, in the last round, and having fallen in the semi-final of the Club World Cup. Brazilian newspapers now point to Jorge Sampaoli or Jorge Jesus as possible successors to Vítor Pereira.
