Madrid, April 8, 2024.- Once again, the flamenco artist Amador Rojas brings his talent to the Flamenco Real cycle. Since its inaugural season in 2018, the dancer and choreographer has not missed an appointment in the Teatro Real’s flamenco programming. In addition, he is the artistic director of Authentic Flamenco, the international tour that since 2022 has traveled to 53 cities around the world, bringing the art of flamenco to more than 150,000 spectators.
‘Now is the time. Time to love each other, time to feel, to respect each other, to sing and dance’ are the first verses on which the new show created by the artist is based. The performances will take place on April 16, 17 and 18 in the Ballroom of the Teatro Real.
Self-taught, ambitious and enterprising, Amador Rojas began dancing at the age of 7 with the help of maestro Farruco, who taught him the basics of this art. At 12 he was already dancing as a soloist and creating his own choreographies; At the age of 16 he joined Salvador Távora’s company, and his path continued alongside names such as Manuela Carrasco, Eva Yerbabuena or Antonio Canales. Already with his own company, he received the Breakthrough Artist award at the Seville Flamenco Biennial in 2008, the La Venencia Flamenca Award in 2009 and The Golden Lyre Musicianship Award in 2010.
On this occasion, the cast that accompanies him will be made up of Nazaret Reyes, dancer; David Cerreduela, guitar and music; Felipe Maya, percussion, and Juañarito and José Aser, singing.
The sixth season of the Flamenco Real cycle – a production of the Teatro Real with the artistic collaboration of Solana Entertainment -, presents the best flamenco dance artists from October to July. In addition to Amador Rojas, the series features the presence of Olga Llorente, Daniel Casares, Yiyo, Eduardo Guerrero, Ángeles Gabaldón, Farru, Marco Flores, Yolanda Osuna and Concha Jareño.
The shows have been included, since the last 2023 season, in the My Opera Player flamenco catalogue.
