Flag Football – Stinatz Ocelots and the victory at home against their feared opponents

Successful Sunday: The Stinatz Ocelots hosted the collection round in southern Burgenland – and were also successful themselves.

DIt was the Stinatz Ozelots’ turn last and played a collection game day with a total of twelve games as a well-attended home event of the Flag Liga Austria 2.

For the hosts it was first against the Graz Panthers – a proven opponent after numerous defeats. However, the southern Burgenlanders were able to convince both in offense and defense and surprisingly prevailed against the second-placed Styrians with 41:18.

In game two the Ocelots then suffered a 41:27 defeat against the Styrian Studs 2. Especially in the first few minutes, the Cracks were still thinking about the win against the Panthers, so it quickly became 0:21. The comeback was spectacular (the highlight was the hook-and-ladder play by the Detorit Lions on the very last play), but it was no longer enough to win.

There will be another collection game day in Innsbruck on Saturday. Sinatz still has three games on the schedule – against the SG Stags/Steelsharks 2, the Vienna Sentinels and the St. Valentin Veterans 2. The Ocelots are currently in eighth place in the ten-player league. The league final will take place in Vienna on October 12th.
