In the game postponed by the Latvian Football Super League, FC “Liepāja” won the Jūrmala “Spartaks” team 3: 2, gaining the third victory in a row, according to the organizers. This game was postponed to the Spartaka administration from July due to the recorded Covid-19 cases.
Liepājnieki took the lead 13 minutes into the game by 1 to 1, as Valērijs Harbačiks elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After nine minutes, Dodo reached 2: 0.
In the second half, however, “Spartaks” played – Nemanja Belakovičs reduced the result in the 68th minute, bt a minute later he realized the penalty, reaching 2: 2. Liepānieki regained the lead in the 81st minute with a penalty shot by Artūrs Karašauskas.
The first place in the top league after 18 rounds of games with 48 points is taken by “Riga FC”, which is two points ahead of RFS. 34 points and the third position is for “Valmiera”, followed by Jūrmala with 27 points. “Ventspils” is behind the top four with 26 points. “Liepāja” is in the fifth place with 23 points, “BFC Daugavpils” has accumulated 16 points, “Metta” is in the eighth position with 15 points, FK “Jelgava” is less and the position is lower, but “Tukums 2000 / TSS” a unit that was only at four points.
