Fixed braces are mainly used in the permanent dentition, after all teeth have erupted, and are therefore possible for children and adults.
In contrast to removable braces, fixed braces are not attached and adjusted in the laboratory, but directly in the patient’s mouth.
Preprosthetic treatments (e.g. straightening of tilted teeth) before bridges or implants are usually of short treatment duration. Ceramic brackets are very popular for aesthetic reasons.
