It’s been five years since Cristiano Ronaldo tied a hat trick after a 2-0 quarter-final first leg of the Champions League in the second leg against VfL Wolfsburg and brought Real Madrid forward independently.
April 12, 2016 was a special, magical night for Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo. Los Blancos had to make up a 2-0 defeat in the first leg in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. CR7 made this mission its own task and became an absolute match winner.
In minutes 16, 17 and 77, the Portuguese shot VfL Wolfsburg out of the premier class. In the same season “la Undecima” followed for the Madrilenians, the eleventh title in the Champions League. At the same time, it was the beginning of a series that is second to none: After 2016, coach Zinedine Zidane’s team won the handle pot in 2017 and 2018. Ronaldo then said goodbye and moved to Juventus Turin after nine years at Real Madrid.
