A wolf was felled in Alvdal municipality in Innlandet on Monday. Thus, five wolves have been killed in the former counties of Akershus and Hedmark this summer.
Jo Esten Trøan, leader of the depredation team in Nord-Østerdalen and Engerdal, confirms the depredation to Rovdyr.org, a website that the organization Folkeksjonen ny rovdyrpolitik is behind.
Mayor Anne Marie Olstad (Ap) in Nord-Fron municipality also confirms the felling on her Facebook page.
– Hope it is the wolf that has roamed our areas that has been taken out. It has injured and killed several sheep in our region. Now I hope farmers in our district can have one less worry going forward, writes the mayor.
In the former counties of Akershus and Hedmark outside the wolf zone, the quota for conditional depredation is set at ten wolves. Four wolves have been killed before Monday’s killing in Alvdal – in the municipalities of Tynset, Stange, Våler and Eidsvoll.
