Five people died in a serious accident on the Plovdiv-Pazardzhik road. Two people are in a serious condition in hospital. According to initial information, the crash occurred after a head-on collision as a result of entering the oncoming lane and high speed, BNT reported.
The drivers – a 44-year-old man from Plovdiv and a 64-year-old man from the village of Dragoynovo and two other passengers died on the spot. A little later, in the hospital in Pazardzhik, another woman rested.
The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on the Pazardzhik – Plovdiv road, in the section between the villages of Malo Konare and Govedare. The road is quite busy but in good condition.
“The route is extremely busy. We have quite a few findings here of drivers breaking the speed limit. Despite the frequent presence of our patrols, including mobile stations that control the speed of drivers, there are actually quite a few cases where this is violated”said Commissioner Ivan Donchev, head of the “Security Police” of the ODMVR – Pazardzhik.
The road remained closed to traffic for several hours.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
