Construction of Nord Stream 2 fully completed… On November 8, 2021, Gazprom announced that the pipeline ready to launch.
The authorities of Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia consider the pipeline a threat to energy security Europe.

Germany and the United States announced on July 21, 2021 that they have concluded agreement on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which should connect Germany and the Russian Federation along the bottom of the Baltic Sea, bypassing Ukraine. Germany promised to apply national sanctions against Russia and call for effective EU measures if Russia continues to use gas as a an instrument of pressure on other countries or “will commit further aggressive actions against Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian authorities believe that the Russian Federation has already begun use Nord Stream 2 as a weapon – Russia restricts gas exports to Europe in order to raise prices, create an energy crisis and justify the launch of the gas pipeline, which is undergoing certification.
November 13, 2021 Gazprom refused to book for December additional transit of gas through Ukraine.
November 16 German Federal Network Agency temporarily stopped the certification process Nord Stream 2AG as the operator of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
