Five things to know about the new Le Cinq residence in Chartres

“The building permit was issued at the end of 2017, and the last apartment was delivered last June,” explains Nicolas Verpeaux, regional director of the Bouygues group immobilizer.

Carried out for a total amount of 3.9 M €, 90% by Eurelian companies, this work was interrupted twice. “A first time because of the discoveries made during archaeological excavations: a wall from the 12th century and a Roman road. And a second time because of the Covid-19 pandemic”.

2 – Situation

The site previously housed a set of offices for the MMA company, which had been abandoned for several years. “As well as a shopping arcade, the antiques gallery, which linked rue des Bouchers to boulevard Chasles,” recalls Vianny Sechet, director of the Center de Bouygues real estate agency.

3 – Apartments

“Originally, the 3,564 square meters of living space in this residence were divided into 47 apartments. But several owners wanted to buy two apartments to make one”, specifies Alexandre Morin, architect of the Chartres office Ostinato, who drew up the plans for this residence.

In total, 43 apartments were finally delivered, the last in June. Apartments with a surface area of between 42 and 198 square meters, sold at an average price of € 4,000 per square meter.

5 – Inauguration

L’inauguration took place this Thursday, October 7, at the end of the morning. Before the traditional ribbon cutting and the visit of an apartment, Nicolas Verpeaux, Vianney Sechet and Jean-Pierre Gorges, mayor of Chartres, successively spoke under a barnum installed on the Place des Halles.

They unanimously hailed “the exemplary nature of this operation in terms of urban redevelopment of the historic center”. Having himself lived in rue des Bouchers for twenty-five years, Jean-Pierre Gorges measures the quality of the work accomplished by Bouygues Immobilier all the more.

“It is a qualitative project carried out in a judicious location. It is the spirit of the city and it is the proof that one can do interesting things in the hypercentre with cranes, that one can rebuild the city on itself. The difficulty is that it will have to be done on 80 hectares … “.
