Isla Bonita Moda: a project to support emerging talent on La Palma
From Sodepal, it is pointed out in the note, through the Isla Bonita Moda program, multiple actions and projects are articulated that aim to contribute to the development, support and professionalization of the emerging talent of La Palma in matters such as creativity, modeling, photography or textile and jewelry design.
“A great example of this work,” he adds, “are projects such as The Creative Factory, a space in which they can develop their potential with the support of the technicians of the insular plan of fashion and that has two areas: one configured for the development of fashion and jewelry productions and the other specialized in photography ”.
Another of the “relevant” actions in this regard is the contest La Palma Fashion Talent, an event developed within the framework of La Palma Fashion Week and which aims to promote the emergence of new values in fashion, jewelry and accessories design, as well as to support new talents in the creative and textile sector.
This contest, he points out, “which sports a renewed image, will reward sustainability and talent during 2021, valuing the implementation of sustainable or environmentally friendly raw materials as well as techniques such as upcyling.”
It indicates that “the promotion and professionalization of the talent of our island is completed with the support and professionalization of amateur models, who will have the opportunity to parade with the collections developed by the emerging creatives of La Palma and receive specific training in the field of catwalk and acting. After the celebration of La Palma Fashion Talent, the organization will choose the two profiles of models with the greatest projection, awarding them the award for the best Isla Bonita Moda 2021 model, which will allow them to make their way through an agreement with an important representation agency of models nationwide for a year ”.
