“Five stories from the brain” by Jean-Stéphane Bron

The trailer of the day: “Five news from the brain”, documentary by Jean-Stéphane Bron (“The Opera”). Released March 16, 2022.

The synopsis: As researchers gradually uncover the mysteries of the human brain, the race is on between human intelligence and artificial intelligence. Jean-Stéphane Bron immerses us in the heart of today’s science, discovering the work of five scientists, at the crossroads between the brain, consciousness and artificial intelligence.

The opinion of Paris Match (****). Don’t look for the most fascinating (and scary) movie of the year. By following five researchers in the field of artificial intelligence, the experienced Swiss documentary filmmaker Jean-Stéphane Bron (“L’Opéra”, “Cleveland contre Wall Street”) signs a great film of anticipation… contemporary, by approaching questions that should concern all of humanity. The closer we get to knowing our brain, the greater the desire to control it, the director tells us. And it is not sure that the Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics apply to the time of the Gafam… The form of the documentary is classic, perhaps too much, but what existential vertigo!
