Five politicians and the pilot lost their lives when a small plane crashed in the Boyacá region in central Colombia, the authorities say.
All the politicians belonged to Centro Democrático, the party of former president Alvaro Uribe. The plane was on its way from Villavicencio to a party meeting in the capital Bogotá, local media write.
Aviation authorities say the plane crashed at San Luis De Gaceno in the region of Boyacá, about ten miles east of Bogotá.
President Gustavo Petro has expressed his condolences on Twitter after the accident.
