LOS ANGELES, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) — Five people aboard a medical plane were killed when their plane crashed Friday evening in the southwestern US state of Nevada, authorities said Saturday.
CareFlight, a program of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA), said in a press release that a Pilatus PC-12 aircraft went off the radar range on Friday at approximately 9:45 p.m. local time (05:45 GMT on Friday). Saturday) near Stagecoach, Nevada.
The press release indicated that the five people on board were a pilot, a flight nurse, a flight medic, a patient, and a family member of the patient.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Lyon County Communications Center received multiple calls that a plane crash may have occurred at Stagecoach on Friday night and search and rescue teams later located the plane.
The sheriff’s office said they are coordinating with the US National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the crash.
A team of seven investigators, coming from various locations, will arrive in Nevada on Saturday night to investigate the cause of the crash, according to the US National Transportation Safety Board.
