“Five Latvian Clubs Receive UEFA License for 2023/2024 European Competitions”

Five Latvian clubs have received a UEFA license for participation in 2023/2024. 2018 season in European club competitions, decided by the Club Licensing First Instance Council of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF). The license was granted to “Auda” club with a separate condition, giving time to eliminate the deficiencies.

After evaluating the documentation submitted by the applicants and the opinions of club licensing experts, a UEFA license was granted to “Valmiera” for participation in the UEFA Champions League, as well as to “Riga”, “RFS” and “Auda” teams in the UEFA European Conference League, while SFK “Rīga” – for participation in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Regarding the “Auda” club, the organization’s debts to the SRS were found, therefore the club was granted a license on the condition that the debts are paid by May 15.

The Latvian champion “Valmiera” will start the UEFA Champions League qualification tournament from the first round, “Riga” and RFS will start their journey in the UEFA European Conference League from the first qualification round, while “Auda” as the winners of the Latvian Cup in this tournament is expected to start from the second qualification round. The first and second round draws for both tournaments are scheduled for June 20 and 21.

In the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the national champion SFK “Riga” will participate in the first round road tournament, the draw of which is scheduled for June 30.
