Our selection of cultural activities to do free of charge on July 2, 3 and 4, 2021.
1) An exhibition full of hopes in Montigny-lès-Metz
In the Europa-Courcelles park and in the Devant-Blory Garden, the open-air exhibition ” Hopes – another world is possible ”Invites you to travel into the future, to better understand the challenges ahead. Organized at the initiative of the French author and prospectivist Yannick Monget, this exhibition aims to question the risks induced by the manipulation of certain technologies, the economic crisis or even global warming. More than an observation, these twenty digital paintings seek to show the solutions that exist and the hopes that remain. After its opening on Friday July 2, the “Hopes” exhibition will be visible until November 7, 2021.
2) Spend the night in the Moselle museums
Many of the area’s museums are opening their doors on Saturday July 3 as part of the European Night of Museums. On the program, free visits, theatrical performances, but also circus shows. Among the structures that welcome their public as part of this event, we find the Center Pompidou-Metz, the Cour d’Or museum and the Frac Lorraine in Metz, the Flea Tower museum in Thionville, the Techniques museum earthenware in Sarreguemines, the Explor Wendel park in Petite-Rosselle, the Moselle 1939-45 museum in Hagondange, the Citadel of Bitche, the iron mining museum in Neufchef and the Archaeological Museum of Audun-le-Tiche. 3) A parent-child outing in nature in Metz
This Saturday July 3 marks the start of the “Nature en famille à Metz” operation, organized by the CPN Les Coquelicots association. Playful explorations in the heart of nature are organized every Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., until June 25, 2022. The objective: to discover, discuss, experiment and act in, with and for nature by sharing a parenting moment. children, but also to eventually form a local network of “nature families” able to act in favor of local biodiversity. This week, the appointment is given at the Magny recycling center, rue Monceau, in order to discover wild plants, with all the senses awakened. For this activity, the equipment will be made available to the participants, who must register for free upstream, each animation can accommodate between 10 and 20 people.
4) Terroir and heritage festival in Forbach
Concerts, children’s party, craft market… Every Sunday in July and August, the Schlossberg park and castle come alive as part of the Estivales de Forbach. The first meeting of the summer is given on Sunday July 4 from 11 a.m., for the traditional Fête du terroir et du patrimoine. Embroidery, enamels or even pottery, local artisans and producers will present their art and their know-how. A space will also be devoted to the gardens.
5) The dancing fountains are back in Metz
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., a new edition of the Dancing Fountains will be offered at the Swan Lake in Metz. This twenty-minute sound and light show will be devoted to film scores this year. Alternating colorful water jets and video sequences projected on a wall of water, this animation will take place all summer, from Friday July 2 to Sunday September 5.
