Lauren Handy, an American anti-abortion activist, explained to the press that “people would panic when they discovered” the coolers containing the fetuses.
Macabre discovery in Washington DC American police fell on Wednesday on five human fetuses in a house located in the Capitol Hill district, reports NPR in particular. The police went there after receiving an anonymous denunciation of “material with potential biological risk”.
The resident of the house is Lauren Handy, an anti-abortion activist on trial this week for blocking access to an abortion clinic in October 2020. She was spotted on Wednesday not far from where the fetuses were were discovered in bags and coolers.
Fetuses examined by a medical examiner
She then told US TV channel WUSA9 that “people would panic when they found out” what was in the coolers seized from the property.
The Washington police, who did not confirm that it was the home of Lauren Handy, said that the five fetuses discovered were going to be examined by a medical examiner.
“There doesn’t appear to be anything criminal about it except for how they got into the house,” Washington DC Deputy Chief of Police Ashan M. Benedict said.
The investigation will determine the exact origin of these five fetuses.
