Rescue workers are looking for survivors of the house collapse in Cairo.
—
At least five people lost their lives and about twenty were injured when a nine-storey residential building collapsed on Saturday in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
“The governor immediately went to the scene together with civilian rescue forces,” the city council wrote in a statement.
Several deadly house races have occurred in Egypt in recent years. Lack of maintenance and poor compliance with building regulations are considered contributing reasons.
