The Israeli army said in a brief statement that “an army plane hit a vehicle and a terrorist cell operating in the Tulkarem region,” without providing further details immediately.
Five people were killed in an Israeli army strike in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian news agency Wafa, a hospital director and a witness reported to AFP, with the Israeli army indicating that it had struck a “terrorist cell” in the governorates of Tulkarem.
The director of Thabet Thabet Hospital in Tulkarem, on the western edge of the occupied West Bank, said in a statement that “five martyrs arrived at the hospital following an Israeli drone strike on a Palestinian vehicle near the village of Zeita”.
According to Wafa, an Israeli army drone targeted “with two missiles” a vehicle that caught fire, killing five men. “I live less than 50 meters from here, we heard an explosion and saw a vehicle on fire” on the road towards Zeita, north of Tulkarem“, a witness told AFP at the site of the attack.
