Five Covid-19 cases discovered on Monday are related to the hockey club Riga “Dinamo”

Riga, Sept. 22, LETA. Five of the Covid-19 cases discovered on Monday are related to the Continental Hockey League club Riga “Dinamo”, LETA told the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

The center did not provide information on who was ill, ie whether there were only players among them. It has been previously reported that five hockey players and two members of the team’s staff have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the “Dinamo” team, so now at least 12 Covid-19 cases are related to the team.

According to the information available to the SPKC, out of all Covid-19 cases detected during the previous day, 24 patients are contact persons, 19 of whom are employees of a food company. Eight patients have returned from abroad, including Russia, Turkey and the United States. The conditions of infection are being clarified for two more people and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

It has already been reported that after the discovery of Covid-19 in both Riga “Dinamo” and Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” teams, the game scheduled for Tuesday in Riga was postponed indefinitely.

Previously, due to the illness of Covid-19, the games of Riga “Dinamo” with Nizhny Novgorod “Neftehimik” in Riga and Nursultana “Baris” were postponed in the opposing teams.

The next games “Dinamo” were planned on their field on September 26 with Moscow “Dinamo”, on September 29 with Moscow CSKA and on October 1 with Minsk “Dinamo”.
