“Five Continents Festival: Celebrating French-Speaking Artists with ‘Found in Translation’ Theme at NYU’s Maison Française”

This Monday, April 17 launches a week of festivities at the Maison Française of New York University (NYU). Organized in partnership with the International Organization of La Francophonie, the Five Continents Festival will welcome, for its 5th edition scheduled until Saturday, April 22, French-speaking artists from various disciplines on the theme “Found in Translation”. On the program: visual arts, music, theatre, a conference on the mobilization of women in French-speaking Africa or even poetry with Isabelle Balot in particular.

This Franco-Belgian, professor of international relations who has worked for the UN in New York and in Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea and Sudan) is also a member of the Royal Association of Belgian Writers in the French Language. Isabelle Balot will give a poetry recital in music on Wednesday April 19 from 8pm to 10pm, accompanied on the piano by Peter Borgia. Admission is free for this “Invitation to travel in poetry” but places are to book here.

And if you want to see her back on stage, Isabelle Balot will meet you on Wednesday May 17 for another recital at the National Arts Club.
