Iron Maiden is the Flagship when it comes to virtuosic Heavy Metal – of course there are now some bands who have long since surpassed the British six in terms of virtuosity. Hardly any other band changed heavy metal as we know it today as much as the Iron Maidens. Now the metal pioneers are coming to Germany for a very special tour.
Iron Maiden: Five concerts in Germany in 2023
Many long-standing bands find it difficult to part with the past, or at least reconcile it with the present. Iron Maiden makes this feat the direct focus of their next tour: “The Future Past Tour 2023” will be deliberately a hybrid tour. What is meant by this is that it will mainly consist of the two albums ‘Somewhere in Time’ (1986) and ‘Senjutsu’ (2021).
Of course, a few other hits are also performed, but the 1986 classic in particular has been repeatedly requested by fans over the years. Founding member and bassist Steve Harris explains, “We’ve had a lot of fan requests for many of these songs over the years, so we’ll be playing them now, and of course a few more that we know you’ll enjoy! It will also be hugely satisfying to finally be able to play some of the more epic songs of ‘Senjutsu’, we have been waiting for it for a long time!
Adds manager Rod Smallwood: “We are very excited about the combination of the two albums. We know fans want to hear the epic tracks of ‘Senjutsu’ live for the first time and we think combining it with an iconic album like ‘Somewhere in Time’ will make it another very special tour for fans new and old!”
After it became known that Iron Maiden the main show was due to play Wacken Festival 2023, tickets sold out in record time, so it should be correspondingly fast with the Tickets for the “Future Past Tour 2023” walk. The exclusive pre-sale starts on 26 October at 10:00, with regular tickets going on sale two days later.
