The disaster management wrote that the accident happened at kilometer 36-37 of the highway in the Bicske area, on the side leading to Budapest. A total of ten people were traveling in the vehicles. In addition to the vehicles of the Bicske municipal and volunteer firefighters, as well as those of the partner authorities, an ambulance helicopter also arrived at the scene.
Angelika Marosán, the press officer of the Komárom-Esztergom County Police Headquarters, told MTI that five cars had collided. The passengers got out of the vehicles, but one of them was hit by a car, as a result of which he flew into the opposite lane, where an oncoming vehicle drove over him. The person concerned died on the spot.
In the evening, Útinform wrote: traffic was opened in both directions at kilometer 36, the congestion has cleared in the direction of Budapest, and it is clearing in the direction of Hegyeshalom.
