On Sunday, the police arrested five men from Belgium who possibly shot from their moving car at an Audi on the A20 near Schiedam. The occupants of the Audi reported the shelling to the emergency services around 06:00.
There was according to the police presumably shot from a blue Opel Corsa.
The alarmed officers eventually stopped both the Audi and the Opel on the A16 near Ridderkerk. Because it was suspected that the suspects were a firearm hazard, the officers approached the cars with a firearm drawn. The occupants were taken out of the car one by one.
A firearm was found in one of the cars after an investigation. The five suspects, aged 22 to 56, came from Belgium and will be interrogated on Sunday. The firearm has been confiscated.
