Die Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently has the list of films revealedwhich will be considered for a nomination at the 97th Academy Awards (Oscars 2025) in the “Best Animated Feature Film” category. This also includes five anime titles. We summarize.

After Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli brought the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film to Japan earlier this year with “The Boy and the Heron,” five new anime films have a chance of winning the coveted award next year – assuming they do are nominated at all.
